Exorbitant termination fee, no prior knowledge of amount

In January I signed up for an alarm system with Brinks, becoming Broadview and now ADT. I was told at that time that when I purchased my own home with the next few years that my service would be installed at the new address at no charge. I have these statements on the company's own brochures.

I moved in June and prior to the move I tried to contact ADT by phone twice and on their website 3 times. The website stated that I would hear from someone within 48 hrs. It is now July 18th and I have never been contacted. I wonder if their service is going to be as terrible as their customer service.

I finally got someone on the phone and explained the situation and said I probably would not keep their service as they had not responded in a timely or professional manner. He then stated that I would pay a $575.82 early termination fee. I realize that I was going to terminate before the 3 year contract was up but no where in any contract I signed was this amount of money mentioned. This appears to be an arbitrary amount never discussed.

When I agreed to let a rep come and talk about moving the service, he said he would give me an estimate. What happened to the FREE Move? All in all I am very disgusted with the shoddy service I have gotten and no longer really trust them but feel as though I am stuck with their service.
