The Writers Edge
Ripoff! They lied, deceived, stole and were fast talkers

In November I ordered two Rosewood Clock and Business Card Holders with Rosewood Pens (engraved) for a total of $74.20. Not a lot of money - but none the less, it was MY money. According to the terms of the business, I was to receive my order in 1 to 3 weeks.

On December 17 I e-mailed Jim Jobin, owner of this SUPPOSEDLY business regarding my not receiving my order in time for Christmas. I received an automated response explaining that they had to rush one of their employees to the hospital - she was having a baby! Giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they were a caring business, I waited patiently for Jim to return from the hospital and answer my e-mail.

I did receive a response from Jim, and he told me my order had been shipped. BUT could not give me a tracking # due to the fact that they use Stamps.com as their mailing source. He went on to explain that the lines in the Post Office were just to long to stand in to mail their orders!

I e-mailed him several more times - one particular time he explained that he was mistaken, that my order indeed did not ship out, that the items I ordered were on back-order and that they were due in any time. AND that he was going to include 2 Space Ink Pens as a "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" gift. I was then told that I would and should receive my order by the next Monday or Tuesday. Needless to say, Tuesday passed and nothing came in the mail.

On January 21 I e-mailed Jim once again and asked that he credit my account for the amount of my purchase. I received an "automated response" saying "We apologize for the delay in your order and for my inability, right now, with being able to provide an immediate update. (an automated response concerning a delay in my order - how would he know people were e-mailing him due to their orders not being received???) It went on to say "We've relocated our entire Order Fulfillment facility to a much larger, more high-tech building and have been working feverishly to unpack and become organized. We should have an update to your order and I will email you back the second I have the most current status. I'm so sorry for this confusion. Our relocation over the weekend has thrown us into a little tailspin yet we have "all hands on deck" to get back up to speed. - Jim - Jim Jobin, Owner"

Mr. Jim Jobin's move must have taken him a lot more time than he anticipated, because I never received a response from him. Then on January 26, I e-mailed him again asking him to notify me of his intentions regarding my order.

It is now February 16th and I still have not heard from Jim Jobin. I did contact my credit card company, reported this incident and was credited the amount of my purchase. I have to now write a letter to the credit card company and include all the correspondence from Jim Jobin - no problem - I never delete anything!

I hope by submitting this report - I can alert the "internet public" in regards to Jim Jobin's fraud.in my opinion, Mr. Jobin is a thief and a liar. Think twice before you do business with The Writer's Edge!!
