Was suckered into buying a membership, and after checking out the company (after the fact) on bbb.org, called the very next day to get a refund. Got into a yelling match with one man who was VERY persistent on me not cancelling—very poor service. If the company is THAT good, they don't need to coax people that much!
Finally he said he would credit my account the whole amount. Never happened. Each time I called after that (three more times—totalling four times), I was told by various people that it would be handled immediately. I was told the credit company had problems and it wasn't their fault, and they would mail me a check. I was told they would have a meeting and "make it a priority." I was also charged legal fees of $29.50 from Impact Legal, who I called, and they claimed no affiliation with StarSearch, and apologized and refunded me immediatly. StarSearch had told them I had approved the charge.
I finally sent an email the first week of January stating that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau, Complaints.com, epubliceye.com, and consumer complaintss. I asked them to please respond within two days. That was a few weeks ago, and I have still not heard from them, nor have I gotten any money refunded. I called my bank and they are investigating it right now.
