Those who stay will be champions? Not really

I have debated long and hard about what to write about the #1 outsourced sales firm in the nation known as CYDCOR. I have no doubt that they have built a great business model and become such a popular company. They have been deceiving people since 1994 with their carefully put together job postings that appear on the most popular sites along with the infamous 4s, 5s, and 8s. I am thankful for the over yearlong experience because I met some amazing people and have a few lifelong friend out of it. Everyone that has read previous usacomplaints.com about CYDCOR know about the interviewing process. You get called in from an HR person, or admin, for a first round interview that takes approx 10-20 minutes, depending on if you do it New York Style. Then, is the awesome Day of Observation. Four to seven hours going door to door with someone you dont know and then the third round. There is no paid training. You use your own gas, but can be written off so that is not a big deal and 100 percent commission of course. I was on the ATT u-verse campaign and got to work and watch some amazing salesmen make decent money. Commissions are decent but after splitting with your new guys so they wont leave the company, taxes, and the cancels. Yeah, people do cancel service, called buyers remorse, you might take home 300-500 on a good week. Sure there are exceptions. If you can BS a customer and sucker them in, you will make more. There are people that do make it in this type of pyramid scheme, otherwise, there wouldn't be 170 offices. I was involved in a situation where my manager, not business owner, quit and the office was handed over to a gentleman in the office who had not qualified yet to run an office. But he is a smart and successful person and is still a manager after moving out of the capital city. There are two cydcor offices in arkansas. One in little rock and another in fayetteville. A year ago, we were having a blast. 40 plus people in the office in little rock and doing well. A year later, 5 of those people remain and three of them are managers, not business owners. Sure there are others, but the numbers are down. Both offices have moved and office size has decreased. I have seen promotions, so called, to management. These managers do not own a business, they manage a branch. Most business owners make the decisions themselves and they live with it. These managers are told by consultants and promoting managers what to do. Managers have to take a cut when they are promoted. I saw an email where an owner paid himself 250.00 per week and lived below his means. There is nothing wrong with that but with the hours put in, that equates to 4.25 per hour. Compare this to the gentleman who owned a pharmacy i worked for in high school. He made 250,000 in 2001 owning a pharmacy. There is a little difference there. I have met some of the people that have made it to consultant and they drive luxury cars and have homes in different places. Those of you that see job postings for sports minded individuals be warned. It is not entry-level management. Its is entry-level, trainer, ass man, mgr. And like with any other business, with CYDCOR, its all about the almighty dollar. It is total BS to say that this is a merit based position. IF you look the part, fake it till you make it, you will more than likely move on up the ladder. The people that have made it no longer stay in contact with people outside the business, with the exception of a few, thus making it a cult-like atmosphere. You are looked at in a different light and perceived as weak or not able to handle a little hard work. That's a crock of crap. DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET!!! I wish those that have made it the best of luck. All the rest of us will go on about our business, making more money than we did a year ago, living in better situations than we did a year ago, and getting to have a life outside of work. You've been warned!!
