I called this company to come to my house and re-seal my sump crock that contained a radon mitigation system. It had been unsealed, because I had a back-up sump pump installed, which I explained to them over the phone. They assured me it was a routine job and they would send someone out. They arrived at my house and I showed the guy my sump crock. He looked at the system and told me he would fashion a new cover and seal it up. I thought to myself great, this guy knows what he's doing. However, 15-20 minutes later he asks me to go look at the system. He apologizes to me, because in the course of sealing the sump crock, he broke the float off of my back-up sump pump and as a result he cannot continue with the job. I understand people make mistakes, so I told him to take care of it or have his main office give me call. He said he'd have his office call me. After a while, I decide to call the office myself and explain everything. The guy who I talked to was already aware of the situation and doesn't think they are responsible. He said his employee readily admitted to breaking my pump, but was blaming the back-up sump for his woes. He said the pump was too low. Well if the pump was too low, he should NOT have proceeded with the job and breaking it in the process. Anyway, he said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. He never did. I faxed and emailed them a letter outlining what happened and that I expected them to pay for the damage they caused. No response. I had to have the pump replaced, which cost me $265.00. My sump crock is still NOT sealed. Then, after all of this, to add insult to injury, Air Quality Control Agency charged my credit card $149.00 for the service call!
Now I have to dispute the charges and I'm letting my attorney handle the rest.
Beware!
