I was just trying to get a credit report, see what was wrong, if anything, and fix it in order to make my credit report look good. The wife and I were intending on purchasing a house later this year, if possible. I saw the ad on yahoo.com for consumerinfo.com and it looked like a good deal... Free 30 day trial, with no obligation.
I should've been suspicious when they asked for my credit card info. I submitted it none the less, and as of yet, have received NOTHING from them whatsoever. There was NO email confirmation that they even received my info, there's been nothing "snail mail" sent to me... No nothing!
Until today... When they withdrew $79.95 for the "2nd" month of service! Mind you, I haven't been able to use the service, there's been nothing from them... Except for the money THEY were sure to withdraw, of course.
I feel this is bad buisness on their part, and I don't have the finances to be "fighting" with a credit bureau. I'm on a fixed income to start out with, I'm handicapped, and fighting colorectal cancer in the process. People who "thrive" on innocent people like us, needs to be taken out back the woodshed for an "Old Fashioned Heart to Heart".
I've put a "stop payment" on the money withdrawn, and hopefully, I can recover part of it. I've learned from this experience, and hopefully, others will as well. I'm in the process of contacting Yahoo.com, a good company, and hopefully, they'll not use this company in the future for part of their advertisement $. Thank You!
