Beware Taxpayers,
I got my 2001 taxes done at H & R Block. The taxpayer had all of the proper paperwork to adequately complete my tax returns.
In September of I received notice from the IRS regarding my 2001 filing. It turns out the H & R Block "forgot" to put a small retirement distribution fund on my 1040. This showed up as earned income, not reported.
I took my complaints to H & R Block, but there was no avail. They say, they guarantee their work. It's a lie, I am only being offered a refund and the 100 dollar penalty fee that the IRS assessed.
If I had purchased the "peace of mind guarantee", the whole IRS notice would be paid in full.
I think that H & R Block preparers are incompetent, and worthless. They charge an astronomical fee for such a simple task. They do not hold up to their standards, and do not help their customers.
