Purchased a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt (Yellow with black horse) $65.00 from Burdines and a pair of Levis Dockers Stain-guard (black with label near belt loop)$35.00 from JC Penny. Took them straight to the cleaners to be heavily starched for a charity music performance on 12/13/03. The day of the show realized they were not the same clothes purchased. Called Cleaners to complain and was basically told that we were lying and to prove it. We still have the receipts from both stores.
JC Penny pulled up the receipt on the computer and they don't even sell the pair of the pants the cleaners gave us. The gave us a pair of black 68% polyster pants (no label near the belt loop). Why would he take this pair of pants to the cleaners to be heavily starched? (You can't starch polyster!) The owner, Tom Richardson flat out said that those are the clothes you purchased! The shirt we got back was yellow with a blue horse on it and does not even fit! The fact remains that we can't use the clothes they gave us. They lied to us and will not rectify this issue and come clean and admit they are wrong.
We're out $100 dollars for the outfit and time taken off work to address this issue. It's NOT right (period)!
