Kohl's
Shirley Davis ([email protected]) - customer service

I have a Kohl's Charge card which I pay on time and always pay more than the minimum payment. On August 7th I was admitted to the hospital to have emergency colon surgery. During this surgery I had a brain aneurysm and started having 3-4 strokes daily which affected my speech and right side of face and mobility of right hand, I received calls daily from Kohl's asking for their 80.00 payment. I explained where I was at and that the minute I was discharged I would make the 80.00 payment. I asked for them to stop calling me, since I didn't have the payment with me in the hospital and that I was in intensive care. I explained that I had bleeding on the brain along with strokes and the minute I got discharged I would send them the payment. They informed me that they would continue to call daily until I gave them the exact date the payment would be received. I explained the payment would be received the first day I was out of intensive care and home from the hospital.
Again I expressed that I was in intensive care fighting for my life and they would have their payment the minute I was discharged (which I did make). I was asked by the Kohl's credit department if I would call my bank and ask them to transfer payment, I expressed to them again I was in intensive care and calling my bank was not feasible. I was having 5 strokes a day, I'm 48 years old and finally had to have a device put into my neck to catch the blood clots so they didn't go into my brain. I responded to every call I received from Kohls which was daily told them yes I owed the payment and that it would be made. Daily they called me they demanded to know what exact day i would be discharged so they received their payment. I offered them my surgeon's phone number, my nuerologist's phone number because I had no clue since my brain was bleeding when I would be discharged. I asked repeatedly for them to stop calling me because the stress was making my situation worse, I agreed to make the payment, but couldn't give them the exact date. I was in the hospital for 27 days and the day I got out made that payment for 80.00. I have never had such harassment over a credit card in my life. I answered my phone everytime they called and asked each time to stop calling me. They refused until I would give them an exact date of payment. They received their payment and I will never shop in their store again because of the customer service and harassment tactics. If their company cannot understand that I was fighting for my life at 48 years old and was having bleeding of the brain with strokes, and had the balance of my colon removed, leaving me 1 foot and I promised to make the payment the minute I was release (which I did), I don't want to be a customer, because customers don't matter to them only the dollars. Congratulations your harassment policy worked you lost a loyal customer. I realize I am only 1 in a million customers you have and don't mean a thing to you, but my life and living means the world to my three kids. I am a person not just another account that you can do without.
