Connie Bush sells defective dogs. We purchased a female puppy from her November 1 with plans to breed her in the future. We paid an additional $500 to be able to breed her in the future if she cleared her OFA tests. We took every precaution to minimize too much wear and damage to her hips and elbows. When she was 24 months old we got her hips checked and were told that she had mild hip dysplasia. Our vet who took the x-rays told us that it was indeed genetic, as there was no abnormal physical wear to the joints, the joints were just small.
Connie has a convenient guarantee however, simply return the dog that you spent the last two years getting attached to and she will give you a new puppy. Very convenient for her.
Buyers, it is not worth it to buy a puppy from Connie Bush. This is not the first time we are disappointed in our experience with her. She has no heart for her dogs. Her dogs (which she over-breeds) sit in their own feces in small cement enclosures their entire lives. When the pups are old enough to be away from mom they are put in a dark, cool, damp barn with little human interaction. When we picked up our pup her fur was stained dark yellow from sitting on pee-soaked cedar chips. She shivered whenever we held her and did not eat or take treats for a few days after we took her home. We make the mistake of giving her our $2500 because we were in a rush. Take the time to do your research into other breeders in the upper midwest (there are a few nice ones).
