Do not buy warranty from levitz; they use stainsafe!
We purchased a sofa from Levitz with a 7 year warranty from Stainsafe on 7/5/01. On 2/24/03 peeling and cracking occured.
We immediately called Stainsafe to submit a claim. Yes, they said, peeling and cracking is covered we'll send out a technician. On March 6 ED arrived and checked our sofa. Yes, he said, everything is covered.in 10 days we will call you to set up an appointment to replace the sofa cushions. We waited and waited, no call came. We called them to follow up several times, actually more than several times.
Then, on 6/18/03 we receive a letter saying scratches are not covered. But we don't have scratches, we have peeling and cracking. But ED wrote scratches on the paperwork so they won't cover it. This Ed person who had no card, no uniform and arrived in an old unmarked van and who would not give me his last name made a huge mistake on his paperwork and now Stainsafe refuses to reopen a claim.
Claim Denied! It's been too long since the peeling started they tell me now when I call. I keep telling them that I reported it immediately, but they refuse to budge. They have been unprofessional, rude, all the operators refuse to give their last names and wont let me speak to a supervisor. Every person I speak to says " I am the supervisor" We have made dozens of phone calls to them, all to no avail.
This has been going on for months and months and this company will not take resposibility!
