ATTENTION COMPLAINTS: I am a woman owned small business in middle TN. I try to do most of the business building process on my own. I had all my codes etc completed to do my CCR Certification.in doing my certification for CCR Mr. John Lynch, of the Federal Government Contract Registration, said it would cost several hundred dollars to certify and that I could not do business with the Government any other way. I faxed over a check to USFR in the amount of $599.00 for a one year Federal Government Contract period.US Federal Contractor Registration, USFR, then debited my checking account. They would not take a credit card. I have owned my own business before, worked with the Government, and did not have to do this, however that was several years ago. I thought maybe the process in working with the Government might have changed.
I spoke this morning to a Government SBA rep and she said CCR certification was free and no charge should have been made. I would like to know if this is true. If so I would like to know who I need to contact to file a formal complaint besides their local better business bureau.
I am a senior business owner having to go back into the work place after losing all my retirement savings to Corporate Greed and the economy turn.
