By far, this is the worst moving company I've ever had. I don't know how to fully express how terrible this moving company is.
My experience with Scanio Movers began my mover said he might have to add some boxes to my estimate, which would be an additional few hundred dollars, but no more than that. The original estimate was for $2550 from New York to Chicago. After 1 hour of leading the new forms had upped the estimate from $2550 to $3950. No joke. After two hours on the phone with the sales person still no resolution. Different men arrived in Chicago a few days later with a new charge. I disputed the charge and wanted to pay the contracted price or 110% of the estimate, which is what the contract said we would have to pay in the event of a dispute. We spoke to the manager of the company who told us we had to pay in full and dispute the charge later. As a kicker they ONLY except cash, postal money order wire transfer for long distance. These people overcharged us for things already in the estimate, charged us for things like a storage facility. The WORST moving company, and I would like to put them out of business. This is a terrible company, with terrible customer service. They will break your stuff, and charge you extra for it.
