We hired Joe andElectric Video Production to film our wedding which occurred in May andas of September 25 we have not received our video. What we have receivedare a number of unreturned phone calls, unanswered emails, and today wereceived a certified letter demanding we pay an additional $250 or we willnever see our wedding video. Our weddingvideo was a gift from my husbands parents and a payment of $2000 for hisservices was paid in full ($1000 in March, and $1000 on the Saturday prior toour wedding). Joe demanded we paid incash and did not provide a receipt for the second payment. He made mymother-in-law drive in the pouring rain from MA to RI and deliver him cash athis house. From the beginning, ourworking with him was suspect, but my husbands family had hired Joe andElectric Video Production for two events in the past and had no problemspreviously. Joe provided uswith no written contract, but agreed upon $2000 for his videography servicesand a set of keepsake DVD (1 DVD of the ceremony and 1 DVD of the reception). Joe and his wife, Donna, attended our rehearsal at the wedding venue two daysbefore our ceremony, and then filmed as agreed during the ceremony andreception. Aside from him TALKING TO THE GROOM DURING THE CEREMONY OVER OUROFFICIANT, the filming went well and we had no other complaints. Joe and hiswife, Donna, were each given a meal at the wedding and were inviting by thecaterer to eat with the vendors in a location separate from the rest of theguests. After the wedding, my husband and I went onour honeymoon.in July I provided Joe with an email including severalphotos from our honeymoon as he requested. He said they would be used at theend of our wedding DVD. I sent him the photos and heard nothing in return. Assuming the photos were too large for email, I compressed the photos into a zip file and uploaded them to my work server. Ithen emailed Joe the link with instructions on how to download and unzip thefile. Again, I received no response. Unsure if he got either email, I called anda week later his wife called my mother-in-law (not me) saying Joe couldnt openthe photos I sent him. I called and emailed Joe again with instructions on downloadingand opening the zip file and again go no response. I did receive anemail some weeks later that he got the zip file open and he provided us withsnapshots of the DVD titles for approval. Once we approved the titles, we didnot hear from Joe for several more weeks. During thistime, my husbands parents were discussing with Joe and Donna about usingElectric Video Productions for my sisterin-laws upcoming wedding inSeptember. No agreements were made and no contracts were signed. After severalunreturned email and phone calls, Donna called my husbands parents and saidJoe was in the hospital and was unsure if he could film my sister-in-lawswedding. My sister-in-law chose then to go with another vendor and there was nofurther contact between my husbands parents and Electric Video Productions.in late Augustmy husband and I again reached out to Joe to find out the status of our weddingvideo. He responded in a lengthy and aggressive email that he had been in thehospital and his father-in-law had passed away and he did not know when ourvideo would be completed. We responded via email that we were sorry for hisloss and that he should have let us known so we werent worrying. We ended ouremail with When do you anticipate our video being completed? To which heresponded only Not at this time. Ournext correspondence from him was via certified letter to my husbands parentsdemanding an additional $250 for us to get our video, citing that because wedid not use him for my sister-in-laws wedding a verbal agreement was broken sowe owed him more for our wedding video. Electric VideoProduction has failed to provide us with any agreements, receipts, guarantees, and completed work. Additionally, they have failed to respond to any and all businessrelated inquiries in a timely and informative matter. We have filed a report with the BBB and will be contacting Department of Consumer Protection. We hope to havethis matter resolved immediately as it has now been 4 months since our wedding. Our next steps will be taking legal action.
