Just got shafted by the Sherman, Texas Office Depot for THEIR mistake.
I use Office Depot exclusively for supplies, office furniture, office equipment, etc. I spend an average of $5000.00 annually on supplies there. Last Friday I went to their Copy/Print Center for the first time.
I had some items that needed to be printed in color, on heavy professional paper, and the bound. When I first got there the young lady behind the counter (Ashley) was dealing with a customer service problem with the lady that was in line before me. I did not think anything of it except I didnt think she was very good at dealing with customers. I chalked it up to her being young.
When it was my turn I told her what I needed and we went thought the different paper types. She was not recommending any solutions and I had to hunt for the paper I wanted on their display shelf. I gave her my memory stick and told her the name of the file to be printed. I SPECIFICALLY told her there were a lot of files on the memory stick. That is when she told me that they could not save the file and she would have to keep the memory stick to do the print job. At no point did she offer to print me a sample for approval or make any recommendations on the print job. She had me fill out my name and number and then I left. I should have went with my gut that was telling me something was not right. I didnt think the girl (Ashley) was competent.
The next day we went to pick up the bound copies and she had completely printed the WRONG, OUTDATED file. The copies were useless.
I called the manager (Mark Bisson) and informed him of my dilemma and he said I could come back and get them reprinted. When I got there she informed me her manger said I could reprint one bound copy not all 50. Why would I want only one bound copy when I need 50? Apparently, he did not listen to a word I said over the phone. Of course he was already gone for the day when I returned to get the corrected copies. I told the girl the wrong file was printed and she denies doing it. It was a $711.20 print job she messed up on so I assume she is scared. Maybe it is not the first time. Who knows.
At this point I just want my money back and I never want to do business with Office Depot again.
They have officially lost all mine and my organization's business. I hope losing thousands of dollars a year in business was worth their $700 mistake. I knew I should have taken my business to FedEx Office.
