I am embarrassed to say that I too have been duped by corporateregistries.ca. Their presence on the web, including a high ranking in Google and an official looking website with 1-888 number and business address had me fooled.
I tried to phone the 1-888 number only to be directed to leave my email address and someone would email me back. I was in a hurry to get an extra provincial registration so I proceeded with the application anyway. Then I was instructed in a subsequent email from Jose Nino to pay $99 tax.
Here's where red flags should have gone off. He wanted payment by Interac through my bank account instead of using a credit card. Again, I was in a hurry so I proceeded anyway. I received a message from Jose Nino on July 5th saying that my payment was received and would be processed within 5 business days.
It is now Sept 1 and despite sending several emails and leaving a message on the 1-888 number no one has responded to me and I have not received my extra provincial registration. After reading the other comments on this website I do not expect that will happen anytime soon. I can only hope that others will read this before using the website - however, many others like me will be duped.
