Michael Sichenzia hired me as a sales person, then contracted me to boost his internet marketing, primarily via email campaigns with a custom Lead Generation form. I quoted him $300. I have an extensive IM background and easily could have charged $1000. However, as a salesperson, I would benefit from the leads so I said $300. Michael Sichenzia agreed. I made 3 comps of the form and showed him. He was quite happy and stated in reference to the invoice "I'll take care of that today." This became a common quote of Michael Sichenzia s. As the days went by, I was sucked in to not just the design but the logistics of a sophisticated campaign. Finding vendors, putting together a targeted email list, selecting and integrating with a CRM, etc. All the while "I'll take care of that today". Having been in the industry, I was using former colleagues for some services. Ie: I was paid for putting it together, but an affiliate marketing friend was supplying the list (a whopping $150). It suddenly dawned on me that if I continue, they may not get paid either (they were working at cost as a favor to me.) When, after a week I became insistent on being paid. Michael Sichenzia told me "I can't pay you around your time". When I explained that should I not receive payment, I would go out of my way to bury him in reports like this one, he finally called me back to say he'd sue me for extortion. -good luck Mikey!
Bottom-line, I was never paid and Michael Sichenzia never intended to pay me.
Michael Sichenzia plead guilty and went to prison for... Wait for it... Grand larceny, in 1988. Came out and touted himself as a new Michael Sichenzia, determined to help the little guy that HE ripped off. That was going well until Michael plead guilty and went to prison AGAIN for... Wait for it... SECURITIES FRAUD in 2002.
