We purchased a German Shepherd puppy from Kristen Campbell, Herz Vier German Shepherds in June and by March we found out he had elbow dysplasia and in April he had to endure a $4,200.00 surgery plus countless months of rehab. He is still in rehab. He will suffer with this problem for the rest of his life.
Once we found out this issue we tried on numerous occasions to contact Kristen by phone and email to no avail. We finally caught her on the phone on 4-9-10 and told her our issues with the puppy. She agreed to refund us 1/3 of the purchase price and we have not heard from her since. We have tried to contact her several times and have gotten no response from her.
The elbow dysplasia he has is a genetic disorder and I do not feel she has any intensions of pulling the parents from breeding. Which is what a breeder with any sort of ethics would do. The dogs she said were the parents are Maximus von Zorhaus and Ima von Zorhaus.
Genetic disorders will occur but it is our duty to stop the breeding process once they are discovered.
Don't let another dog suffer because of some breeders ignorance. Do your research before you decide to purchase any dog from Kristen. Be careful as she has operated under several names: Kristen Campbell, Herz Vier German Shepherds, Rockin RK Ranch, etc.
