About a year ago, I found out that someone was slandering me online. I have NO known enemies. I am just a wife and mom who runs a photography business. My husband is a successful executive and we live a quiet life, stay out of trouble, and raise our kids in a very nice community with great friends and neighbors surrounding us. It baffled me as to why a year ago someone started slandering me with a vengence - it scared me so much that I filed a police report. This person was obviously angry and bordered on psychotic in his/her accusations. I was accused of everything from being a "phony" business person to running an escort service to being a drug addict. All laughable since everyone in my life knows that is SO not me!
I decided since this went on for months (typically the person used Rip off report and other sites to slander me), I would find out who it is. I was able to do so quite easily! The person slandering me made a mistake one day. He created a fake user name on a website, and then under the same user name filed a fake complaint against me, and he also filed a complaint against someone else. I had never heard of the other person but I felt that this person and I had something in common: We were both being attacked by the same individual and if I could find out who we had in common, that would be the key to finding out who was slandering me. Note: All of the slander is written by the same person, they make the same spelling errors and use the same verbage in each attack.
The other person who he "attacked" under the same user name was located in Colorado. I don't know anyone in that state. But the slanderer listed her name and her business name, so it was easy for me to track her down. When I called Michele, I explained the situation, and quickly showed her the link online to where she had been slandered. She was shocked - she had not seen it yet. We spent an hour on the phone trying to figure out who would do this to us, could it be random? We did not think so. The person obviously had it out for both of us. We had no common family, friends or relatives. We nearly gave up trying to figure out the mystery. Once last attempt though: We decided to make a list of ALL of our contacts, everyone we could think of, and email that to each other. See if we had any common contacts at all, maybe through our businesses (though since she was a real estate agent and I was a photographer, that seemed unlikely).
She received my list before I received hers. I emailed it to her with a list of many names, just everyone in my life now and in the past who I could think might be capable of slander. About 10 minutes later, I received an email from Michele saying "Keith Titus from somethingsphishy-that's it. I bought fish from him, and received a dead one, and he refused to refund my money". Why was Keith Titus on MY list? Well he is the estranged brother of my husband. 14 years ago, he was a business partner of my dad's and when things went bad, he sued my dad. Keith and my brother no longer spoke since that time. I was shocked. Michele and I had no other connection except Keith Titus. I live in a small town in CA, she lives in a small town in Colorado. Mystery solved!
I quickly filed a restraining order in my local court.in my haste, I filed the wrong form. I was not granted a permanent restraining order against Keith Titus ONLY because I had filled out a domestic restraining order. The judge explained I could still pursue this but needed to fill out the correct form. As of today, I have not done that. However, Keith Titus continues to slander me online through his business and personal email account. He posts ridiculous lies and slander about me, not an ounce of truth to any of it, all over the internet. My only choice is to go back to court to get the proper restraining order and I will be doing that.
I have since learned received emails from customers of Keith Titus's, as I have posted my situation online to make people aware. Many have said he has slandered them onlin the minute they complain about the fish they receive from his business. He has 21 Better Business Bureau complaints against him and has many civil judgments against him. My best guess is that he started posting negative and false information about myself and my husband out of jealousy.
So be aware, if you deal with Keith Titus or his wife Traci Titus, and they do not like you for any reason no matter how many years have gone by, you could get slandered online by them. Although I have learned to ignore Keith and Traci Titus and find them to be sick and disturbed human beings, I feel I must warn others and I also feel that I have been "ripped off" of my reputation online because of their false accusations (not one of which is true nor can they provide any proof for, because it is all untrue).
And in case anyone thinks I am making this up, here is the link where Keith posts negative feedback to both myself and the person in Colorado to whom I have no other connection except Keith Titus. He calls himself Mary k Williams and has used Williams as a variation in other postings online too. But, here is the smoking gun, the way I was able to find out who was slandering me.
You will want to click on the complaint against DanaJill Photography and the one about Michele Williams of Unique Estates. Again, Keith Titus is the ONLY possible connection we have in common. He has since been very careful to only post one complaint per user name! However, I have used various detective services to determine his IP address and it has been linked to other postings online as well.
