My wife and I both took the day off of work for our big move. We had hired Southern Star Moving at least a week or more in advance. The day of the move, no-show. Frederick said that they'd be there by 9am. I called at 9:45 to see what the hold up was. No answer, I left a voice mail. 10,11, 12. Finally at 12:30 he calls me back and his first words are, "did someone from that number call me?"... So, I guess he never even heard his voice mail. We were furious at this point. He says, "let me see where my guys are and I'll call you back". At this point, I had enough and told him to just cancel the whole thing, I'd find someone else. This basically postponed my move by a week because I had to contract another company. When I told him I was canceling he offered no apologies, no attempt to make the situation right, nothing. Just said, "ok" and hung up. Guess business must be booming for them in this down market if this is how they treat customers.
By the way, a dead give away should have been that he also stood me up the day of the walk through for estimate. I took my lunch break from work to meet him at my house at the pre-arranged time. No-show that day as well. Didn't even call me. He called me the next day with some excuse on how he had his son that day and had to take him to his mother's. I should have canceled then and there but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
