My story
I was looking for a job in the trucking industry, but times were hard and companies weren't hiring. Then I found this ad. I called the number and I was told to come in for an interview. When I got there I was told that DTG is not a dealer, financial institution, or a transport carrier but rather they provide the service of matching individuals with a job and getting them a suitable truck. Because I have AZ Licence I wanted a tractor but Denis said no get a straight truck; there is much more work and they use less fuel. Also he claimed I would be home much oftener. Denis stated that I would be making between $2500 and $3500 dollars a week from this I would need to pay my fuel, Insurance and make the truck payments. He said that the truck he would sell me would use about $500 in fuel per week. The insurance would be $600/ wk. This would make my deduction about $250-$300 per week plus the truck payment.
So I fell for it because it was such a fool proof way to earn a living. But because I didn't have the $20,000 for the down payment and start up costs; I borrowed this money privately thinking I would be able to pay it off shortly.
But that is when the horror began. DTG sold me a brand new truck saying used ones were hard to find, and companies won't hire you unless your truck is fairly new; less than 2years preferably. They then had me sign on with a company that had no operating authorities. I had to have all my own authorities. After I had been driving for two weeks and used way more fuel than Denis had predicted and not made the kind of money I was promised I called Denis and was told that I had to give it some time, although this doesn't make any sense and you should never fall for this. If you are available and the company you sign on with is buzy and they know what they're doing then there is very little slow time in the start up.
After 4 weeks and not making even $4,000 I had to quit. I was supposed to make that in just over a week! Denis then had me go to a different company were I fared no better. I was on duty from 6:00 am Monday thru Saturday and I couldn't ever make even the minimum of $2500 a week.
I do believe that there was a time in history when expedite trucks were scarce and loads much more plentiful. Then one could have earned a living with a straight truck.
But what DTG does is they buy the cab and chassis and through their working group they add they sleepers and cargo boxes; they then resell the truck to you at an extremely high price (about $30,000 over a similar truck retail at the dealership) and finance it at what one lawyer called an illegal rate of interest.
Because of this setup they refuse to sell you anything but a straight truck because that's how they pocket the money.
Also they will tell you all kinds of things but they are very careful of what they put on paper. Although they claim not to be a dealer or financial
Institute all the paper work was handled by Denis ; I never met a dealer or lender though they say they will introduce you to both.
DTG sold me the truck valued at $112,000 (according to them). I had to put $16,500 down and pay 2530.00/month for 60 months. That equals over 19% interest!

I finally lost the truck and found a day job to try and pay for the 35,000 dollars that I poured into this venture.
If there is anybody out there that has had similar or opposite experiences please comment.
I am working on a website that will discuss this company and others like it in more detail.
