Better Business Bureau of Upstate SC Arbitration Services are arbitrary at best

To Whom It May Concern:

You might be asking yourself right now, "Should I take advantage of the arbitration services offered by the Better Business Bureau?" You probably have a dispute with one of your customers and are interested in resolving it in a fair manner. You are also likely thinking to yourself that the Better Business Bureau will be less expensive than formal litigation. Before you go the BBB route, there are a couple of things you should know.

Buried deep within their Dispute Resolution Pamphlet are these words:

Arbitrators are not bound to apply legal principles in reaching what the
arbitrator considers to be a fair resolution of the dispute.

Consider these words carefully.in other words, they are not bound by the rule of law. This means that whatever contract you might have had with the customer is no longer an issue. The race is on as to who will give the sorriest story; who can portray themselves as the greater victim. More often than not, it will be the customer that wins. Truth be tossed to the wind.

In the best case scenario, these arbitrators can ignore any contract that you had with your customer and go home believing that they just scored a few points in heaven.in the worst case scenario, the BBB might as well have posted a large flashing neon sign above there store front that says, "We accept bribes!"

Understand that if the rule of law is in your favor, the arbitrators may simply say, "Well this is what we feel is fair." And if it is in your customers favor, they may simply say, "Well this is the rule of law." They are like the Pharisees and Sadducees of old; they change the rules as it suites them. The only question you should be asking yourself is this one: Are YOU in their favor?

My recommendation is that you read the information posted on this and other web sites. You will see that the BBB has a way of protecting its own, a modern day Good Old Boy's Club. Man is a sinful creature. Where opportunity knocks, all too many men will answer. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.

As for me, in the future I will be taking my chances with the all too many liberal activist judges currently sitting on the bench. At least these judges have to pretend to obey the rule of law.
