I had mailed my diamonds and gold to "WebuydiamondsandGold to 1568 Merivale Rd, Suite 343, Ottawa Ontario. Total value of $10,000 and in return they had mailed me a cheque for $42.36. I was in shock. They guaranteed me that if I was not happy with the money, they guaranteed me my jewelery back. I contacted them immediately by email (they have an recording when you call them and no one returns your call). I returned the cheque and they kept my jewelery.
Before I contacted "WebuyDiamondsandGold.ca, I thought they were a member of JVC, as they display this logo on their website. JVC which stands for Jewelery Vigilance Committee. I contacted them in New York and they confirmed they are NOT a member of JVC. JVC immediately contacted them demanding that they remove their logo immediately. This is the letter that JVC sent on April 13th.
The Jewelers Vigilance Committee is a non-profit association, solely supported by the industry, it is our mission to advance high ethics and sound business practices in the jewelry industry. Since 1912, the JVC has undertaken to assist members of the industry to comply with federal and state laws, in order to promote the integrity of the industry.in that regard, the JVC often receives information about matters, which may negatively impact the trade and our intervention is sought in order to correct mistakes or resolve disputes. The JVC is the liaison with the U.S. Customs, Attorneys General, Departments of Consumer Affairs, Better Business Bureaus throughout the U.S., free ports and trade associations around the world.
Our review of your website, http://www.sterlingreputation.com/, indicated that there is a clear legal and/or regulatory compliance problem based on the use of the JVC logo without authorization to do so. We have been contacted by numerous consumers checking on your alleged status as a member of the JVC. We ask that you cease and desist in the use of the JVC logo with the authorization to do so.
We have received complaints from consumers who have submitted jewelry items for sale and were dissatisfied with the price you were offering them. They requested the return of their sale samples. To date they have not received any samples and have great problems contacting you to discuss how to move forward.in an email to one of your clients you write, If for any reason you are not satisfied with your settlement cheque, we offer a 10 day no hassle return policy. You are not honoring your store policy. We will use every avenue that is available in the U.S.in Canada and on the Internet to make certain that you do not misrepresent your business as a member of the JVC ensuring consumers that they are dealing with an ethical JVC member. I trust that this need not go any further and you will comply with our notice. If you wish to use the JVC logo, you must take the necessary steps in order to become a member of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee. But for now we wish you to cease and desist in the use of the logo.

I have reported them to the Competition Bureau and BBB and ic3gov and now to the police. This Company is a Big Scam. They have 21 complaints on BBB and I see more complaints on the internet. Someone has to remove Webuydiamondsandgold.ca off the website.
