Doggie doo daycare
Lisa carl, Doggie Don't Daycare

3/23/10 @ 9:30am. Dropped off dog at Doggy Doo Daycare. No information about my dog nor myself was required. No vaccination papers were necessary and she did not even ask for my address, name, or telephone number.

3/23/10 @ 12:00 pm. Payment was required first, even before seeing the dog. I Asked Lisa how the dog was, and she replied, The dog didnt like to be brushed up high in the hind area and as you said, She didnt like having her nails clipped. One of the employees brought Koda out on a leash. He handed me the leash and as I took a few steps toward the door, I noticed that Koda was holding up her rear left leg. I thought that maybe the groomer had cut a nail too short and that Koda was just being a baby. When
we got outside it was pouring rain so I picked Koda up and put her in the front seat. When I got into the car, she wouldnt lay down as she always did. She just cried and whimpered the whole way home.
3/23/10 @ 12:10.. I brought Koda into the house (shes still crying) and told my husband what had happened. He looked at her and said, She is shaking and something is wrong.
3/23/10 @ 12:11.. I called the groomer and asked her if something happened to my dog while being groomed and she replied, I would have called if something happened. I was thinking. You didnt even know my name or number! I said, Something is wrong with Koda. I am going to call my vet and get back to you.
3/23/10 @ 12:12.. I Called Doctor Slack, my vet for the past 9 years, but his office was closed for lunch and will return at 1:15pm.
3/23/10 @ 1:15.. I called Doctor Slacks office, told them what happened, and was instructed to bring her in @ 3:00pm.
3/23/10 @ 3:15.. Doctor Slack immediately noticed that something was wrong with her leg and showed me that one leg was not only twisted but also longer than the other. After the x-rays, Doctor Slack confirmed that Koda had a dislocated hip. At that point, he asked me what happened. I told him about being at the groomers (while lifting up her paw). I told him that I had called the groomer the minute I got home and she said that nothing unusual happened. Doctor Slack said, It was obvious that something traumatic had to have happened to Koda for the hip to pop out. The doctor told me he was going to have to keep Koda overnight, put her out, and try to pop the bone back in. He told me to call him the next morning at 10:00 A.M. He also gave me an estimate of $400.00 and I went immediately to Doggie Doo Daycare. When I walked in, I asked to speak to the owner and a male employee said she had already left. I was upset and crying and he said, I will call the owner at home. He had a conversation with her, told her how seriously my dog had been injured, and that I was crying. Her reply was, Tell her Ill call her in the morning! I then said to the employee, What kind of dog lover is she, she doesnt even want to talk to me, she asks for no paperwork, no names, not even a phone number in case of emergencies? His reply was, Im just an employee but if I were the owner I would do a lot of things differently.
I drove home and told my husband about what just went on and he then called the groomer and told the employee that if Lisa Carl did not call us now, we were going to go to the newspaper. She called back 5 minutes later and I told her about my dogs condition.
And, that my vet was sure that something traumatic had to have happened for the hip to pop out. I told her that I was supposed to go see my vet to see how Koda was doing. Lisa said to call her tomorrow after I found out how Koda was.
3/24/10 @ 9:45.. I went to see Doctor Slack. He said that Koda had a really bad night and that he doesnt think that the hip femur was going to stay in the socket. He said that he was going to give her another tranquillizer to calm her down and wrap an Ehmer sling around her. He also said that Koda would have to be completely confined and crated for the next 30 days. And, to only let her out to go to the bathroom. Doctor Slack told me that I could take Koda home that afternoon. As soon as I left I went back to Doggy Doo. I went to the front desk with the estimate and asked if he was the owner. He said that he was Lisas business partner. I told him the situation, showed him the bill, and asked, Do you plan on paying this bill? His reply was, I dont think so. At this point, Lisa came running out from behind the counter and was being really nice. She then said, You know that when I was brushing your dogs hind area she was very fussy. I suddenly got the feeling that she was trying to say that my dog came in with some kind of injury. I was very upset and crying and said, You would not have been able to groom nor trimmed her nails and bathe her if I brought her in with such a severe injury. Then she said, Well, I groomed and did her nails, but I did not give her a bath, someone else did. I said, I would stake my life that something happened to my dog while she was here. My vet insisted that something traumatic happened to her. Then I said to Lisa, You must have insurance for things like this. She said she wasnt sure that it would cover this injury.
Next she said that she wanted my vet to fax her vet all the x-rays and medical records because she didnt trust Doctor Slack and that he was just trying to get money out of her.
I told her that he had been my vet for the past 9 years and that I trusted him but if it would help Koda, her vet could look everything over and verify everything.
Next, Lisa gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her when I had everything together. Before I left, I told her that I needed a crate small enough so she couldnt move around too much. I pointed to a crate on the shelf and asked, Could I use that one? She replied, That one is too big, I have one in the back you can use. She took me to this crate which was 2x larger than the one I requested. I said no because it was too big. Lisa then said that she would bring me one tomorrow. I left there for WalMart to buy a crate and bedding for my dog, and went to pick up Koda, Doctor Slack now said that it might not hold through the night and if anything comes up, to call him. Now home I put Koda directly into the crate. She finally woke up at 11:00 p. M yelping and whimpering. I then carried her outside so she could urinate but she wouldnt stop crying. I gave her one of the tranquilizers that Doctor Slack prescribed (Tramadol 50mg) and plopped down in front of her crate until about 4A.M. When she finally went back to sleep. At 6:00am on the 25th, I called my vet and told him we were up all night with Koda. He said to bring her in at 7:45A.M.

3/25/10 @ 6:45am. I called Lisa on her cell and told her what was going on. I said, Lisa, before we go any further, are you willing to admit that my dog may have been hurt at your salon? Her reply was, well, why do you think I am even talking to you about it? Then I said, There are a couple of concerns I have about your business; You never asked me to fill out any information about my dog, my dogs history, or my phone number. How could you have possibly called me in case of an emergency?
And furthermore, when I offered my Kodas rabies certificate, you didnt even want to look at it. Dont you think that you might want to protect yourself, your employees or even other peoples pets? She then cut me off and said, Youre barking up the wrong tree you bitch! Now youre starting to piss me off! She then hung up on me.

3/25/10 @ 7:45A.M. Met with Doctor Slack and he told me that Koda needed a specialist in Portland. He was going to call for an appointment with a Doctor Kern. We took Koda to his office in Portland that day for an emergency procedure, with a price of nearly $1,000.00 and not even a guarantee that Kodas hip would heal correctly. As of right now, Koda was in guarded condition with another appointment next week. Before we left for Portland I again asked Doctor Slack if there was anyway the hip would have just popped out and his reply was, absolutely not!
