In October I had the Lap band surgery done at Strax in Lauderhill. One week later I had to have it removed. I could not stop burping and had severe chest pains. My Doctor tried to remove some of the fluid but it did not help. I told my Doctor that I could not afford to have the Lap Band removed. While I was waiting for my second surgery I overheard 2 of the Strax Technician complaining about how they have to sterilize their equipment in between patients because they do not have enough instruments for more than one surgery.
One week after my surgery I kept complaining about my incisions being infected. I had to have a biopsy and the results came back stating that I had MRSA. I have been on 6 different antibiotics and still have not been able to control it. I called Mr. Feanny to let him know that I had contacted MRSA from his faculity but he denied it.
Since then I have had to have an upper GI series and an endoscopy because I was having trouble swallowing anything bigger that a pea.
I started receiving bills from MedChoice Financial, GE Money, and Weston Surgical Faculity. I called and spoke to Mr. P. Feanny and he stated that I had to pay The Weston Surgical Faculity. I received a bill from the Weston Faculity c which was less than $1000.00. But Mr. Feanny said I would have to pay the $3200.00 to MedChioce Financial and he would give me a credit from Strax for any future surgery that I had done at their faculity. I told him I would never have another procedure done at Strax, because i had contracted MRSA at his faculity. He denied again that I had not contacted MRSA at his faculity. But I didn't have before my surgery but I sure had it afterwards.
I have emailed Mr. Feanny about my refund but he has stated that I used his faculity for several services that my Insurance Company and myself had paid for. I feel that Mr. Feanny should get the money from Dr. Chio since he is the one that promised me that it would not cost me anything. I am still very over weighted. And do not have an option to have this surgery done again. Do not use Strax for any procedure.
