Wrongful Termination, Defamation of Chracte

I had been working for Walgreen's for almost 4 years. And this is how they treated me:

At about 2pm on October 3rd 2003 the loss prevention supervisor came into the store to deal with 2 employees stealing from Walgreen's. At 3:15 P.M. I was instructed to go in to the break room to talk with loss prevention. Supervisor's name was Ross. He started off with getting my information and then he went into the conversation with stating that our store was being watched for fraudulent activity. He told me that they had noticed that there was loss to the company by me & I was one of the people being watched.

He then wanted me to list where I have worked in my career with the Walgreen's company. I told him that I worked at the MGM store and that I also worked at the Spring Mountain and Jones store. He asked how long I have worked at the MGM store and I told him that it was about eight months. He asked me if I had any problems at that store and I told him no except for cash shortages that occurred because of management, stealing money out of the cash drawers, and that they were caught and fired for the offences.

We moved on to see if I have caused any loss to the Walgreen's company. I said no, not intentionally. I told him that one day I walked out because I had mistakenly forgotten to pay for a drink. I had returned the next morning and paid for the drink. He asked me if I had told anyone about it I told him No I paid for the drink and had put it back into the cooler I am honest and I had no reason to lie to him. Then he said what else. I told I could not recall anything else, so he proceeded to say think harder.

I thought harder and I told him that I had given a employee discount to my girlfriend (at the time) which I did not believe is wrong because I was told by a assistant manager, Mr. Lusung about a month before, that it was ok. That is the way I understood it. What happened was, that one day one of my friends was in the store and we were pretty close friends. When she got rung up he came up to me and said was that your girlfriend and I said no. He continued to say that if it was, he would have given her a discount. At that time I thought that it would be OK to give my girlfriend a discount. I know that discounts are only allowed for relatives and employees. I was not married to her but I was going to marry her so I figured that since we were dating it would be ok.

Then the supervisor asked me if that was it and kept making it seem like it wasn't everything I was telling him. I then mentioned to him that one day the Frito lays guy, our potato chips distributor gave me a bag of chips because he had an extra. There was no theft involved. Then he proceeded to tell me that that was wrong of me to accept the chips. I told him "yes" and that I shouldn't have done that. He proceeded to say that he wasn't out to get me fired or anything like that and kept of persisting that I tell him more. I told him that I have never caused any other loss to Walgreen's; I have never taken money out of the cash drawer to borrow or anything to that extent.

He then had me call the store manager in to the break room. I did. He then told the store manager that I had admitted to taking the drink, and giving a employee discount away to a non employee or family member, and that the total amount I have cause loss of to Walgreen's was approximately 7 dollars. I was let back out on to the sales floor where I would finish the remainder of my shift.

At about 3:55 pm I was called in to the office and informed that I was being terminated for the 7 dollars in loss that I caused to Walgreen's and that it is considered grazing. I that time I was paid my money for the hours I had put in. And told to pay the 7 dollars I had supposedly taken. I did and got my receipt or any kind of confirmation. I was told to leave my vest and leave.
