Placed merchandise I paid for away from my access and they left the area

On March 4 at 10:50 A.M. I was ripped off by Walgreen's 2864 McCartney Rd. Youngstown, Ohio.

I purchased seven items that included a small bag of Kibbles and Bits dog chow, for my elderly dog.

The items were bagged in four separate bags. My bag of dog food was not made available to me after the purchase. I gathered the bags assuming the dog food was in the three bags but their was four bags.

The cashier placed what I thought was all the bags on the counter but she did not include the dog food. I found it strange that the cashier immediately left the area and walked over to the make-up department and was talking with another employee.

I got home and an hour later I went to feed the dog and no dog food. I called the store and they said it was on the floor behind the counter.
They said they would leave it there until it was picked up.

I consulted a Wal-Mart (sister company) employee and was told this happens and asked about consulting a Store Manager about the situation. I was in the area of the Walgreen's on nearby Market Street. Because the dog food was only $3.29 on sale and to save gas I went to a on the way Walgreen's so as not to go out of the way to get matter sorted out to save another $3.00 in gas. I asked the store manager to call the store as I had given him my receipt for verification and he said he would get me another bag.

Well I waited and he brought the bas up to the counter. He asked me to go to the counter. Then he asked me to follow him back to the dog food area. Then he asked me to go back to cash register. Then he said this price is different. Well it said sale item on the receipt and the item was on sale a few days ago when I paid for the item.

He then said he wanted the difference and I could have the dog food. I said you are an expletive. I said I paid for the item already and was ripped off. I proceeded to leave the store and made it know to the other employees, that the store manager was an expletive. I was irate from being ripped off, then asked to pay for an item I had paid for.

I did spend the other $3.00 in gas to go all the way back to get my merchandise I paid for. I also stopped and notified the local policeman in a area as he was in a squad car. I briefly explained the situation. The patrolman said he would go to the Walgreen store he was facing and would try to deter further employee misconduct.

The point of the matter of being harassed by store employees also has me addressing this matter to the BBB Also, because the practice is not discouraged by store management, middle or top managers. Otherwise, these happenstances would not occur, and there is a frequency.

I asked for a refund and will go out of my way not to shop at those two Walgreen stores.
