I report this so that future customers looking for a home security company can make informed decisions regarding ADT. The salesman who sold me the ADT system never mentioned anything about requiring 30-Day notice of cancellation.
I recently moved, so I called ADT to cancel the account. I thought everything was taken care of, but about 11 days after my cancellation, I noticed ADT charged my bank for another 3 months' charge.
I called back, and the billing person informed me about the ADT 30-day cancellation policy, i.E. ADT will continue to charge you for 30 days AFTER you have cancelled your account.
Had the salesman mentioned this to me, I likely would not have signed up with ADT. I complained to the lady on the phone, who had nothing to say but "It's in the contract." Yeah, right. I looked at the contract again, and even knowing what I'm looking for, I still couldn't find it after a long time among a sea of tiny ant-like letters.
This is pure and simple highway robbery, and I continue to pay for services I am not receiving for 30 more days.
