This complaint addresses issues that may be deemed dishonest and irresponsible by Wachovia Bank where they have chosen to capitalize of the misfortune of their customers. First they have chosen to collect a substantial fee when a customer makes an error and does not have funds to cover a check and to compound matters by increasing that fee if multiple items come through without funds to cover them. Now to increase their profitability they have chosen to pay the largest first creating the multiple scenario when they can profit more. Next, even if it is your first time of having any problem they refuse to credit any portion which indicates to me it is more about the bottom line than retaining customers and cause additional pain and problems in the economic time. It is one thing if they have a nominal charge for paying but another for charging a lot of money and returning the payment who charges additional funds.
