Westbury child devlopment center. This daycare should have a license to operate. Repaeted DHS violations. And the Directors are rude to the employee's this facility is dirty and run down. If you look at the cheap woodwork in the front it is peeling and falling apart. How is this safe for kids? Ot os not. When it rain a huge 3 foot poudle of water forms in the fornt and side. I seen tadpoles, frogs, ducks and most of all Mosquitoes. How is this safe? I do not think so. I have seen roaches in this facility it seems to be dirty. When problems are found they are covered up wit ha cheap fix. The director is very rude to the employee's tells them what they can and can not do even after they clock out for the night.
But its OKAY for the director to do what ever she wants whe nshe wants. Ohh yea they have family working there. They get the specail treatment. Over other employee's.
As for the playgrounds OUT Dated playground Equipment worn paint, huge cracks in the gorund. Busted toys. Unsafe conditions. Now ask your self this would you let your kids/kids attend this daycare?
The owners knows about the provblems but refuse to do any kind of Preventive maintenance to fix the problems. Just CHEAP quick fixes. As for the van runs. They dropped kids off to the local elementary school. I have witness the Van driver rolling the 4 way stop sign. More than once. How safe is this with kids aboard?
Do not bring your kid/kids to this facility. They do not care about your kid/kids. All they want is the money, they yell at the kids they barely have any Activities to keep the kids BUSY! Debbie the new Director is rude and does not believe in anything fun for the kids to do. All she wants is the money, and the kids do not have fun or field trips. I cant believe they let this person work for a child daycare service with her bad lousy attitude.
She treats certin employee's bad, and lets her family members that work there do what EVER they want. How can you even run a daycare facility with a bad attitude towards certin staff members.
Look at the frence in back of the daycare it is Deteriorating, some kids got out and went into the neighborhood, how scary is that? I cant imagine if a Kid got hit by a car. Did the owners replace the fence? (NOPE) they did a cheap repair but adding some screws in it. Wow what a good repair.
If you are an employee if you have a family matter or doctors appt to attend god forbid you CAN not go with out the threat of a write up or being fired. Only cheryl or debbie the Director can attend peronal matters.
Dirty worn out broken toys that need to be replaced are over looked. If something breaks they look for a cheap fix. I believe in a daycare if something breaks replace it with something better for the Safety of the kids. Where are the onwers? Never around until a problem pops up. Then they offer a cheap fix. Or they blame some one else. But unwilling to come up with the money to fix the problems.
But they make sure the parents pay ASAP or they will kick your kid out. Nice for business i think not. As for the owners they do not care. They want the money. As i heard a while back the heater broke. They was accepting kids when it was 50 degree's and dropping. They allowed kids to be dropped off. But the KNOW-IT all Director let kids stay.
I believe per DHS rules it has to be 65 degree's in a public daycare facility. As i close i add this be "cautioned" about westbury child development center. Be leary of the Management staff. How they lie and treat the employee staff poorly. Do not apply for a job at this daycare or even use it as a daycare FACILITY. If you want your kid or kids to be treated poorly.
Or feed something they can not eat. The Director does not care or should she be employed in the daycare field. Unsafe conditions poor facility thats needs to be shut down permanently, there is no way it can hold a 2 star rating. Maybe 1/2 star rating. If you have a family matter to attend to BE PREPARED to be threatin with a write up or be fried. The pictures they used on the website are doctired up to look good. They do not look like that
