I used to work at Wee Care Daycare and I saw things that I had never seen before or even thought would happen at this kind of business. There is one employee that will fall asleep at the drop of a hat. She yells at the kids (when she is awake) and says things like "shut your mouth" and threatens the kids that she is going to smack them. One of the parents of the daycare came to pick their child up. They banged on the door numerous times and rang the doorbell to try to get in, but they couldn't because this certain employee was sleeping while she had at least 10 school aged children running around. She almost got her fingers cut by a 3 year old one day because she was holding a piece of paper to be cut, and she fell asleep.
There is another employee that works with infants who screams at them for crying, smacks them, and neglects them. I saw her smack a 1 1/2 year old for crying. For God's sake, he is a baby. And babies cry.
One of the other employee's has been known to pinch, smack and scream at the 3 and 4 year olds. I saw her pinch a 2 year old on the arm as well as push her to the ground, "because she did it to another child". I also saw her put a 5 year old in a high chair, then sit behind her on the floor and shake the chair as a form of punishment. She was also taunting her saying that she was going to take pictures of her in the high chair and send it to her big brother to show her how big of a baby she was.
Utilities are constantly being turned off or being threatened to be turned off. The gas got turned off one day and we couldn't use hot water to wash hands, or dishes or use it to mop the floor. The trash went for more than two weeks without being picked up. The electricity was on the verge of being turned off due to non payment of the bill, as well as the phone. The phone has been shut off before, and when parents came in and asked why the couldn't get through on the phone, two of the employee's used the excuse that the phone lines were down, even though 80% of the parents who have kids that go to the daycare live in the same town as the daycare. If there was an emergency, how would the employees ever contact the parents or if need be 911? The city of williamstown came down one day and told the owner that she either paid the water bill (wich was 60 days past due) or they were going to turn the water off.
When childrens' parents pay for their children to go to the daycare it is supposed to include breakfast, lunch and snack. At the beginning of summer the parents were asked to bring sack lunches with drinks for their children's lunches. I saw one little girl who only had a peanut butter sandwich with no drink for lunch because her grandmother did not know that they were supposed to send lunch with them. My question is, if the kids were supposed to start bringing their lunches, to save the daycare $600.00 a month, then why haven't the bills been getting paid? And why were the weekly rates not dropped?
I have been permanently scared by the ongoings at this daycare facility, and will never, ever send my kids to daycare, EVER!
