It seems that JBL A/C Services is operating under a new name (Florida A/C Service & Duct Cleaning) but is up to the same old schemes. I contacted this company to come out and clean the air ducts in the home my husband and I had just purchased. My first complaint was that they never showed for their scheduled appointment. I should have taken this as a sign. When they finally did keep their appointment, their so-called "service" was a complete and total scam. The "service tech" (Glaz truck #32) cut a small hole in the insulation of my air duct and tried to tell me that I had DEADLY BLACK MOLD throughout my air duct system. He told me it would cost over $2400 to clean my duct system. When I balked, he started to drop the price and offer to throw in "freebies." I said "absolutely not" and insisted that I needed to speak with my husband before I would authorize any work. Glaz then told me that his quoted price was good for today only and if he left I would be charged full price by the next service tech. I got my husband on the phone and told Glaz to speak with him directly. Glaz then dropped his price by another $800. My husband told Glaz in no uncertain terms to get out of our home. I then reiterated this point, yet he continued to try to wheel and deal. After he left, I contacted a reputable AC company. They came out the same day and informed me that, in fact, I had NO BLACK MOLD in my AC ducts!!! My husband contacted the company to file a complaint with the manager. After much insisting, the operators informed us that the manager's name was "Ben." My husband insisted that Ben give us a call back or we would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We tried to call Ben on several more occasions, but have yet to hear from him. This took place 1 month ago. Needless to say, we are moving forward with our formal complaint process. JBL or Florida A/C Service or WHATEVER name they choose to go by should be put out of business permanently and the people in charge of this business scheme should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I consider myself lucky because I did not spend 1 red cent on this company; however, I suspect others will be taken for a ride and charged exorbitant amounts of money for no legitimate purpose. Do not even call this company. They should all be in jail.
