Fingerhut
Aka Axsys National Bank Fingerhut actually owns Axsys National Bank deceptive company victimized many consumers

For several years I have been trying to get a clear statement of my account with Axsys for items ordered through Fingerhut. I have requested them in accordance with the Fair Credit Billing Act and have been met with silence.

There is an account outstanding on my credit report, which I honestly don't feel that I owe.
I called my attorney who wrote a letter to the company since it is now, years later, interfering with my ability to mortgage a home for myself and my children.
I received a letter from NCO (a collecting agency) offering to settle for 'less than the full amount'. I called today, 7/18/03 - one day after receiving the letter.

NCO said that since I had an attorney they would not talk to me. That Fingerhut had the account back. Fingerhut has no phone number listed to it which will allow you to speak to anyone.

I'm thinking I'm just out of luck? I'll have to pay this or I can't buy a house? What the heck?

I have documented my attempts to communicate with both Fingerhut and Axsys from the start. They have refused to answer or mail any statement of account even though I disputed from the start.
