In January I found out that there was a problem with my credit. Upon obtaining a copy of my credit report, I found out that Fingerhut Axsys National Bank claimed that I had an acount with them that I had not paid. Yet, the address for the account that they had was in the Bronx, NY, where I have never lived.
After contacting Fingerhut, they told me that they had deleted the account. My credit was then clear.
However, almost 2 years later, I receive a letter from a collection agency (Plaza Associates) that states that they are collecting a bill in my name from Fingerhut. AND it is the same Fingerhut account number that Fingerhut had sent me a letter saying that they had deleted.
