This gentleman hires laborers for landscaping, underground work, digging etc... Has you wait a week to fill out any employment paperwork and then states too busy to take care of it. Will do it next week and will pay you for both weeks at that time. After the second week he avoids you or doesnt show up to the job site. Then you call and he doesnt answer or tells you he is busy and will call back. After frusstrated from not being paid you stop going in to the job. You continue to call and he continues to avoid you. You file a law suit because at that point you are SELF EMPLOYED (no paperwork showing you were an employee) so you cant file with DLEG. Most people do not have a DBA (doing business as) and they lose in court for failure to show employment! Fortunately I have a DBA and fully expected to be paid and to recieve a 1099 at tax time!!
