I should've came to this website first...
I ordered a video game from HMS that was out of stock, but had an expected arrival date of two weeks. I received a weekly email telling me the item was still on backorder and would ship when it arrived. A month passed, and then I received an email stating the item was unavailable and that I would not be charged for the item.
A few days passed and I was reconciling my bank account and noticed a $9.95 charge from HMS. I went back a month, and sure enough, there was another charge. I called the customer service number at HMS and was told that I had signed up for membership with BestBrandValues while checking out on my original order. She told me this was clearly visible as there was no way to process the order without me opting in. I never saw anything during check out.
Their website has a shadowed box stating that you will be enrolling in a membership deal (I don't remember that being there a month ago...). Buyer beware.
