College Works Painting
Beware

My partner and that I employed Collegeworks Artwork to paint our Bethlehem, PA house within the summer of 2007. They did a great work and we were pleased with the group of artists. The supervisor, Mike Rosales, was exemplary together with his employees with his clients. The only real criticism we'd was they began the task significantly later within the summer than they'd informed people they'd, after which required considerably longer than they'd expected, therefore from the end-of summer time, the pupils were noticeably "examined" psychologically. These were going back again to university and desired to be achieved. The carport place was completed in a "angry hurry" also it consequently started to remove almost instantly. But they'dnot return to correct this, declaring that their period was completed plus they'd return within the Spring and re do the carport underneath the guarantee.

We'd bought a long (five-year) guarantee. I approached Collegeworks within the winter of 2007 because of ripping we discovered on numerous regions of the home, along with the carport issue. They got their period in obtaining us put up with artists in the future out and look after this. They ultimately delivered artists really late summer, also it was looked after, but, again, it had been overdue within the period plus they obviously did not desire to be below.

Once more within the winter of we observed ripping. I approached Collegworks and required a be sent Springtime. I told the Client Service Consultant, Steven Antonio, that people truly want to have somebody emerge early within the period and look after this, once we needed them to become "clean" and prepared to move (pun intended). He assured me he might ensure this occurred. He did clarify the guarantee function quotes have completed late July, early September which he'd place a demand set for mine to become among the first. After many telephone calls and e-mails, lastly, oneday in September, (the 15th to become precise) a (Ryan) named and stated that a artist (Darren) could be being released to cost out the task within the next handful of hours. Nothing beats preparing in advance. Fairly unprofessional. Fortunately my spouse was working at home that evening and was open to talk with Darren. They strolled throughout the house together, so when them found the fireplace (which incidentally hadnot initially been decorated at-all unknowingly to us at that time - a roofing consequently noticed it after which informed us about this), Darren stated, "Hmmm... I actually donot understand how to get right up on that top." Hmmmm... We're employing one to get right up on that top, of course if that you don't learn about poultry steps and such, for anyone who is achieving this work? I talked with Ryan about that and he explained to not fear, he'd absolutely have somebody out over the following couple of days to complete the task - somebody with expertise - which the task could be finished from the following Monday, 7/20.

While Monday arrived and went with no Ryan with no artists, I approached Steven Antonio again, who explained this work will consider considerably longer than they'd expected; that it'll consider significantly more than five hours, so that it wants acceptance, which may happen by early the next week, 7/27.

I also had required in March a duplicate of the initial agreement and guarantee. Steven had told me he'd get that in my experience. Since I have hadnot obtained it, I requested Steven about it again, who stated he'd maintain contact with Mike Rosario (who'd quit the company) to ask about the agreement (that was evidently absent for action) and about any records he might have discussed our home (because Scott had explained he'd do this before he quit the company).

On 7/21, I talked with Ryan, who mentioned this might really be considered a two-day job and also the nearby university team could be performing late in to the summertime as well as into early drop, therefore to not fear, it'd have completed and he assured everybody could be "up to speed" to complete a great work. We decided on the week of 8/10. I described the agreement. He stated he'd consider it.

8/3 I left a note for Ryan to verify the task. No-return phone with no Ryan on 8/10.

I named Ryan and quit a note on 8/12. I subsequently named Steven Antonio and requested to consult with the most effective supervisor for this region. He set me to Joe Young, who they inform me supervises the guarantee work. Joe explained the guarantee function does have completed September - Sept (quite simply, these werenot officially overdue in dealing with us). But, when I told many people, I also told Joe that it had been guaranteed in my experience that individuals could be among the first homes to obtain completed which the possible lack of conversation and follow through is undesirable. Joe mentioned that Ryan is "flooded" but might return to me that night. I also mentioned the agreement and guarantee and Joe stated he'd consider it and obtain it sent to me.

No Ryan, once more.

On 8/24, I named Steven and requested to consult with the "large chef" of the region. He advised me her title is "Lulu" which she's the "operator" of the PA department which she'd return to me.

No-call from Lulu, but Ryan named on 8/25, really apologetic, and put up the task for 9/3 (recall - we were said to be first about the checklist long ago in July!)

9/3 arrived and went. No Ryan. No artists. No work getting done.

Communications, etc.

On 9/9 I named Joe and informed him that at this time Collegworks was in violation of agreement which my next thing is always to contact my attorney (oh, and incidentally, where's the backup of the agreement you guaranteed?! Hmmmm... They CAn't find the agreement! Or even the guarantee! Additionally - why have not I noticed back from Lulu and may I've her immediate quantity? No I really could not need her immediate quantity and she'll not be contacting me.) Joe mentioned he wasnot conscious the work wasnot getting completed which he wasn't pleased with that which he'd ensure that it got completed and he'd be contacting me having a backup of the agreement, any records he will find that Paul might have place in the document, and he'd also clarify the guarantee plan (he believes the very first 2 yrs are totally free to us, after which decades three through five there's an hourly price for work, but itis totally free whether it's a re do from prior guarantee function.)

Ryan called a couple of minutes after Joe and that I hungup. Apologetic. Will certainly be below 9/18 to check out the task after which may finish the task on 9/19 and 9/20. He'll also return the next weekend if necessary.

Ultimately follow through. Ryan did focus on the times he guaranteed. He didn't possess a assistant as he explained he'd, therefore couldn't get right up about the hierarchy to complete the 40-toes places but guaranteed it'd have completed the next weekend. He did appear the next weekend, 9/26, but once more the assistant was not with him and we'd to venture out. He mentioned he assured he'd not get right up about the large hierarchy without his assistant, that his helper was on his method, which the task could be completed upon our return. Whenever we delivered, he'd quit many steps, color, sprayer, additional equipment and tools within the lawn as well as in the carport. It appeared as if the task was total, but we nevertheless even today don't understand if his assistant turned up; if he got up about the large hierarchy and decorated all of the large places and also the region about the fireplace that hadnot gotten accomplished.

Today, five months because we last observed Ryan, steps, sprayer along with other gear continues to be installing about our home. We've not completed the "walk around" with Ryan or signed-off at work. We don't possess a backup of the agreement. Ryan or Joe are returning telephone calls.

Extremely unprofessional indeed.

However, we'd possibly need to cope with the corporation three more decades when there is more peeling (and think about that?! Why so much peeling?!) But at this time I actually do think our best-bet would be to find a reimbursement on that guarantee and become completed with Collegworks.

I'll see what our attorney considers the entire mess.

Meanwhile, I'm informing neighbors to not utilize Collegeworks, that will be sad, being I'd really suggested them following the unique work was completed. I've since gone back and rescinded that suggestion. It is also too poor since we were really contemplating having them do the entire work once again in a couple of years, when I was informed they'd recognize the exact same quantity we settled initially (that was in those days a few thousand significantly less than different quotes).
