We went to the Hyatt Hotel in Sarasota, FL last April for a talk abouta buying furniture, cars, etc. At a discount by purchasing direct from the makers. If we listened to thetalk we would get "Complimentary 2 free round tips airline tickets (includes base airfare within the US) and dinner for two at any DardenRestaurant. Allowing 2-4 weeks for delivery. That was 6 months ago!
This gives them time to cash the $29 check they requested for "processing."
Thecheck was to be made out to: DIRECT SAVERS which was cashed byFLORIDA LEASURE PRODUCTS in another city in Florida! The talk was tobe about obtaining furniture, items, etc. As a discounted cost;however, it seems it was really a travel agency. Or, so it seems. Because we didn't sign a contract that day to BUY anything, we weretold we could not buy the contract later, but they needed $29 to coverexpenses for processing our airline tickets, dinner coupon, whatever.
Iwas surprised to see the same company was reproted two years earlierthan our talk on April 1.2009. I GUESS THIS WAS OUR "APRIL FOOLS"REWARD!
$29 is not going to break me, but how do crooks like this continue to do it over and over again in other cities??
