Complaint / Review
Cub Foods Minnetonka
Privacy, intimidation, lie, forced sign

Cub Foods Minnetonka is just one more company that thinks that just because you are a young employee and don't have much work experience that they can do whatever they want to you and force you to do whatever they want.

I was terminated from my position at Cub Foods for a legitimate reason. I understand and fully comply with the reason I was terminated and have absolutely no hard feelings other than at myself for this. However, it is how I was terminated and what transpired in the next few days that forced me to write this report.

On the day I was let go from Cub, I came in to work and after I had swiped in was asked to go upstairs and speak with the store manager Mark Johnson. (I would like to add here that I have no intentions in this report of saying anything bad about Mark J. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I have a great respect for him.) Anyways I was called into his office with him and my boss Pat Jones was waiting there for me.

I was told in no uncertain terms that I was terminated and then I had a very complicated and long form put in front of me. Pat gave me less than 2 seconds to look at it and then told me to sign at the bottom. When I hesitated I was told again, and then agian, "sign here at the bottom, just sign, sign". I was given no time to read the paper and when I said "what am I signing for?" the response was "just sign".

No sooner than I had signed did the paper disappear back into a pile of other papers on the desk. I was immediately ushered out of the office and escorted into the parking lot, not before Pat Jones demanded, then snatched my name badge from me.

I went home and talked with a friend who immediately asked "did they give you a copy of the form they asked you to sign", I realized that they had not. I then talked to my landlord who immediately asked the very same question, and then informed me they had to give me a copy.

Approximately an hour later I called Cub and asked Pat if I could have a copy of the form because "I was a little bit uncomfortable and confused about what I had signed" I was told "Im going home now and I don't have permission to give you one, you'll have to ask Mark tomorrow." I called the next day and sat on hold for 15 minutes before I finally hung up.

The next day I was talking to a few of my friends from work who were all talking about me being fired... This was very confusing to me because I had only told two people who both had not worked that day. Then, I started asking around, as it turns out everyone had heard their story from someone who heard from someone who heard it from Pat Jones!

I was very upset because it was my belief that in something as serious as termination that I would have a right to privacy. I believe that Pat Jones acted extremely unprofessional and inappropriate in telling everyone around her about how and why I was fired. These stories I was hearing from people were not even true, the rumors were getting ridiculous to the point of people saying that I was "crazy" and insane.

It is my belief that in telling these things, Pat Jones, supervisor at Cub Foods Minnetonka made a clear breach of trust and breach of privacy rights. I believe that although some of what she may have told people may have been at least partly true, it is clearly defamation of my character and should not under any circumstances be allowed in a business that considers itself to be of such great standing and integrity with it's customers and employees alike.
