Is the Wrong Way to go

I went to Rightway Auto on June 19. I have not bad great but not great credit. My car was older and it went down. I needed to get a car so I could take my husband back and forth to the doctor. Well I have been trying to get cars at other dealerships. I kept getting told no, you need a down payment or a co-signer. Well I heard about Rightway Auto on the radio. I thought I would give them a shot.

So I meet up with the sales man Eric. We go over all things he needed. He told me there are two types of companies that they deal with in trying to get people a loan. Well I could not use the other company because I didn't have no credit. So I had to use Gateway Financel. I would have a payment I could live with and pay every two weeks. He wanted to get me in a car with out having to put a down payment down. He went upstairs to talk to the finance manager. Well they said they had a car for me. He took me outside to a 98 Chevy Calvier. I was like o.K. I guess I could test drive the car. It didn't look like it was detailed. I took it out for a spin. First the tire was down and had to be aird, then there wasn't that much gas in the car. The steering felt a little funny. I came back and told him about it. He said if he could get it looked at and if needed to be fixed would that be o.K.

Well since I needed a car I was like o.K. He had all the paper work ready for me to sign off on but the contract. Eric kept going over things kinda of fast. I started reading things before I signed them. I noticed this one piece of paper stating that he didn't quote me a price then gave me another one. Well he never quoted me at all. I told him I would not sign it before I seen the quote. He went upstairs and finally came back down. The payments would be about 180 every two weeks. Well I called my husband he was like o.K. Only because we needed a car. I admit I only looked at the payments and not the amount for the car. The finance charge was 25%. I understood since I really had no credit it would be high. Well they made me watch a video from Gateway Financel. They talked about no grace periods when it came to the payments.

They got me no fault insurance for the car and would get my plate for me. The catch was I had to pay back for the insurance and the plate once the plate came in. I had signed all the paper work and I was in the car waiting for Eric to come out to the car witht he insurance. I looked at the contract and it said no cooling down period. It was like I could not change my mind once I was off the lot. Then I seen they financed the car for 10,000. I called my husband and told him that. He said no way. I told Eric once he came out that I could not go with them. First of all the car was a 98 and had high mileage. It was the best car on the lot either. He tried to talk me into keeping the car but I kept telling I could not do it. He then kept saying but you are not gonna have the car that long. You will have it for 14 months or shorter. We are going to buy back the car. It's better to finance the car for 10,000 then 2,000. It looks better that you can handle the payment. I still told him I could not do it. Then he went and got the finance manager Greg. Greg tried to talk to me. I told him no I couldn't do it. I wanted to make sure all the paper work got shredded. Then he went upstairs and got Sam another finance manager. He tried once more and I told him no I couldn't do and go against my husband.

Sam took me upstairs and stated that he understood. They had me sign off on a piece of paper work. It stated that I signed the title in error and that I didn't have any intrest in the car and there is no fraud involved. Then they shredded the paper work. They gave me back my refernces and paystub.

When I got home I called and asked for the finance company telephone number. Sam seemed a little annoyed that I called and asked for it but he gave it to me.

The next day I called and asked for a copy of the paper work that I signed off on. I had no problem with them faxing that to me. Then I faxed over a letter just stating that I did not take a vechile off the lot and that I did not take a loan with them. Greg called me back and left a message. I called him back. He stated that they could not sign off on this because the paper work was shredded and that a loan/credit app was done. I told him I understand that the paper work was shredded but the app was done online. He stated there was no deal and I could have a copy of the paper about the title. I told him I have that already but I want to make sure a loan was not done in my name. He stated again he could not sign off on the paper work and I have no reason not to trust them.

I have a copy of the confirmation of the fax I sent and wrote down what he said. Don't trust them after googling this company.
