I hired Gaston and Gaston to handle my case. They told me that my case was a slam dunk and that I should be entitled to at least a seven figure settlement. They stuck me with this attorney David Skilling who was very smug and condescending from the very beginning. I requested a new attorney, but the practice assured me that David Skilling was very competent, and that my case was being handled with proper care and diligence.
I started to become suspicious when I couldn't get a hold of David Skilling. I had some questions that I wanted to ask him regarding the upcoming trial. Eventually, I called the court and found out that the hearing was rescheduled because my attorney had failed to file the proper paper work. I didn't hear from David Skilling or Gaston and Gaston until one week after the date of the original hearing.
When I did hear from them, it was not even David Skilling, it was his assistant, and she knew nothing about my case or the fact that my trial had been rescheduled. Moreover, she could not give me an acceptable answer as to why David Skilling was unwilling to take my calls.
Finally my new trial date comes around, and as far as I know we are, as Mr. Skilling said, "good to go." I find myself sitting in court with no lawyer, no call, no assistant. The judge was so infuriated because, as it turned out the trial had been rescheduled two times, that he insisted we proceed anyway.
It turns out that this jerk David Skilling had been pulled over while driving drunk and had bean caught with a prostitute. He was booked for DUI and soliciting prostitution.
At the end of the day, I had not only lost my case, but had a reverse judgment set against me in the amount of $132,000 for the defendant's legal fees, and still, no call from David Skilling or Gaston and Gaston.
When I finally got in touch with David Skilling, he informed me that Gaston and Gaston still intended to bill me for their services and that any future services (i.E. Fixing their screw up) would be billable as well.
Gaston and Gaston are the worst attorneys in California and their little pool boy David Skilling can't even show up to court when he is supposed to, or file the right paper work. They charged me tens of thousands of dollars for their horrible service.
I am currently pursuing a lawsuit against Gaston and Gaston for their incompetence and the personal damage that has been caused as a result.
