My company was contracted to match a drywall texture job. After three days into project progress was slow due to drywall patches needed as well. At that time was told that we were the 4th crew in here to do this very same job. After working over a week, was informed that due to SPEED that we would need to be let go.
At this point, ALL drywall patchs were completed and two needed to be sanded. One appartment had been completed and several other ceilings.
There were eight appartments to be finished. No time frame was originally disclosed. ANY repair or change that John Hood or Russ Meck pointed out, I fixed with in 24 hrs. I had prepped others to simply go through and roll texture.
After meeting with John and Russ, I asked for 800 of original 2000 for compensation for my and my helpers time. They said they needed a couple of days. After a couple of days I called. John stated that the crew he has now wants MORE than 2000 to fix all MY mistakes,, mistakes he never mentioned... Until now.
Bottom line, after discussion with several contractors invloved in this project... They are RIPPING OFF sub contractors and getting free labor for a building they hope to have open early August, I believe, with little to no direction and NO compensation for your work.
