Advantage Van Lines/Precision Movers
As I write this, I am experiencing Advantage Van Lines terrible service

I wish we had seen the other reports on this company that were already posted. Unfortunately, I didn't. As of right now I am trying to negotiate with them the release of my belongings. I recently moved from Ohio to Nashville Tennessee. I will just post a copy of the complaint letter that I sent to them the other day.

To whom it may concern,
Re: Advantage Van Lines, and Precision Movers.

1. We were contacted via email by Advantage Van Lines, to which my wife responded by calling your company on the phone, and she spoke with a salesman named Mike. He took a short inventory list of the things that we were moving, and was supposed to follow up with us to get a detailed list. He quoted us a price of $791.80 for 2000 lbs/286 cf.

2. Mike but never contacted us for a detailed inventory list. My wife tried multiple times to contact him regarding this, but he did not respond. The only other time that she was able to talk with Mike, he did not take a detailed inventory list, but he did renegotiate the price of the overage with us to $0.37 per pound. He did not put this in writing, so my wife contacted someone else at Advantage Van Lines, who would not give us a clear answer either, but insisted that we would be under the limit for the agreed price.

3. Advantage was supposed to contact us about the date of our move to confirm, which they never did. We finally did contact Advantage, but they wanted to move our date to one day earlier than originally agreed. When we said we could not do this, they said they would try to move it back to our original date of Wednesday, July 15, and would call us to confirm. We were not contacted, so on Tuesday, July 14, we contacted them again, and they said they would be coming on Thursday, July 16. We informed Advantage that we would not be there on Thursday, but in Tennessee.

4. On Thursday, July 16, some men arrived to move our things from a company called Precision Movers. My mother was at our house to oversee the move, since we were already in Nashville. Upon arriving at our old residence one of the men, who was referred to as Tom by the other worker, walked up to my mother, who has had a history of knee injury and back injury, picked her up and said, whoa, your heavy.

5. The men complained, saying that we had more stuff than what we were supposed to have, and then said that it all had to be boxed up. My mother called us and my wife spoke with one of the men, and she told him just to get it to Nashville.

6. Our things have still not arrived in Nashville. The last thing we were told was that they were somewhere in Indiana in storage.

Complaint #1
Advantage Van Lines never followed up with us to get our detailed inventory list, but insisted that we would be under the limits for the agreed price.

Complaint #2
Advantage Van Lines has practiced incredibly poor communication. We did not receive calls back when we were supposed to, our moving date was changed without Advantage contacting us, we were not told that all of our things had to be in boxes, even though the majority of our things were.

Complaint #3
Unprofessional and dangerous movers. Neither of the movers had ever met my mother, and yet, one of them lifted her up off the ground. This is unprofessional and it put my mother in danger, especially given her past medical history.

Complaint #4
We have still not received our things, and are being threatened that we will have to pay for storage of our things even though we never agreed for it to be stored.

In my estimation, Advantage Van Lines, is responsible for the overage, if any, that we are being charged for, due to their own lack of communication with us, and lack of follow up regarding a detailed inventory. When a person contacts a business, the onus for the estimate rests on the business, yet this was apparently not taken seriously by Advantage, even though we made every effort to communicate with them.

My mother has filed a police report for the incident that occurred with the worker who picked her up. The report number is 20-09-5615 and it was filed with Wayne County Sheriff's Department in Ohio on July 18 by Deputy Sheriff P. Brumme, badge #420.

We have contacted our attorney and are prepared to sue for the workers actions against my mother, which were committed while working for us.

Our expenses are piling up as well, we have nothing to cook with so, we have been forced to eat out. We have had to purchase clothing, due to my wife's job, and not having our things. We also do not have our washer or dryer.

Our children are sleeping on the floor, eating on the floor, and have none of their toys.

If Advantage had communicated properly, given us a better estimate, and delivered on time, this would not be the case. We are being taken advantage of.

Please respond immediately, or we will be forced to take further legal action.
