Steven Brodsky At Low cost & quick divorce: Dont believe the hype!

After doing some simple research for my Uncontested Divorce I came across the Brodsky Law Firm. I had seen other sites that were stating low prices as well but they were rates that seemed impossible. So I thought that the Brodsky Law Firm site seemed to be the best choice for me.

I chose them because of the reasonable rates as well as the fact that it wasn't necessary to go into the office. Being that I work normal business hours this worked out very well. I was able to handle everything via email and / or the phone. Mostly everything was handled via email.

So, this whole process started back in June. I was advised of the rates and I was told that the final cost would be $800.00. I was also told that I would have a finalized divorce in about 3 months.

With all that information we set up a payment plan and the divorce procedures began.

On or around August was when I started to ask about updates on the case. On August 28 I sent an email over to Mr. Brodsky requesting information and I was told by him that he had to file an Amended Summons with Notice and re-serve my "wife" because he failed to serve her with a form originally.

As of mid September she had yet to be served. Finally she was re-served. On October 22 I emailed Mr. Brodsky again asking for some sort of update on the case. On that same day he responded and said that things were still in the works.

On December 16 I emailed Mr. Brodsky again to check on the status on the case. On that same day he responded and said that my case was still pending and that my case would not be done by 12/31/08 and that he would update me as to the exact details soon.

On January 22 I emailed him once again looking for some sort of update. He responded to me the same day and stated that he is working as expediently as possible on my case. He then said that he had lost an employee and became very backed up. He said that he was aiming to have my case filed by the end of that same week.

On January 28 he emailed me telling me that my paperwork had finally been straightened out and final papers will be filled shortly. I then emailed him back thanking him and asking him when the divorce would finally be complete. His response was in about 6 weeks.

On January 31 he emails me asking what my date of marriage was. On February 3 was when I received this email so my response was if there were any problems? His response on that day was the he had provided a marriage date of 2008 so he had to re-do some paperwork. He then said that he would be emailing me some documents to have signed.

We are now 7 months into this whole ordeal and the paperwork was still in process!

On February 3 I received for the first time 5 documents that I need to have signed. He stated that as soon as I mail back those documents to him that he could go ahead and file the final papers with the court.

When I printed out the forms I noticed that the Child Support Summary form was filled out incorrectly. He had written in the wrong amounts. I emailed him on the same day I received the forms advising him that there was incorrect information. He emailed me back and told me to just cross out the wrong information and enter the correct information.

On February 20 I emailed him asking if the documents had been received. He replied and said that they had been received already and they were being reviewed and processed.

On the February 25 I emailed him to check on the status of the paperwork. He replied and said that the paperwork was being filed that week and that after that it should be roughly 4 - 6 weeks to be finalized.

On March 13 he emailed me telling me that I had forgotten to sign and notarize a document that he had emailed me. I had copies of this document and knew that I had sent it to him. Maybe he had misplaced it. Being that I had a copy I needed to re-sign it and notarize it and re-mail the document as well.

March 25 I emailed Mr. Brodsky again asking to see if he had received hopefully the last and final document he needed. He replied and stated that he had already received it and my papers would be filed once again by the end of the week. And I again was looking at about a 6 week time period until a complete divorce.

On April 20 I emailed him asking for the status of my case. He then responded and said that he was waiting for the court to process everything and that if all goes well the divorce could be done in about 6 weeks.

May 6 again I sent an email asking for the status. I stated that as far as I knew the paperwork had been submitted already 4 weeks prior. His response was that the courts are running way behind and that it could be a few more weeks.

May 25 I emailed him in disgust. I stated that at this point we were going on almost a year and that as far as I knew the paper work had been submitted for about 2 months already. I begged to just please be updated as to what was going on. I advised him that my entire life was on hold behind this divorce. His response was that he understood that this has all been ridiculous. That the court is holding it up now. He stated that his part was done months ago. He said he had checked on my case a week ago and that it was still in the "review" stage by the clerks before it's sent to a judge. He again stated that it would be another 4 - 6 weeks. He also stated that he was as frustrated as I was. He said he would check again the following day because he was going to be in court that day.

June 10 I emailed him asking the status. He replied and said that he had checked and that it was still in the "review" stage. He then said it's been almost 2 months and that he was frustrated. He said that if I would like to check for my self I could call 646-386-3010 and provided me with my index number.

June 17 he emails me and says that after the clerks reviewed the paperwork that the court told him that they requested an additional document. He said he would have it completed and filed by that Friday. And low and behold once again I was looking at another 6 weeks. I responded and stated that this was insane already. I again advised him that my entire life was on standby. I expressed my frustration and concern. He replied in agreement. He stated to me that I was one of the few clients whose cases have been delayed to no end by the courts.

Now on July 13 I called the clerks office and provided them with my index number. A gentleman answered told me that they have no record of my index number. He asked if I had someone handle this for me. I told him yes the Brodsky Law Firm. The minute I said that he told me, well you need to look into that, find him.

I know that I have been extremely patient up till this point but this information outraged me! I emailed Mr. Brodsky 2 minutes after I got off the phone with the clerk. I asked Mr. Brodsky how it could be possible that the court doesn't even have any of my information. I advised him that I had paid for a service and it seemed to be that nothing had been done.

No reply to my emails came back! I then Googled his law firm because I wanted to confirm that the number I had was the number to call and talk to him directly. I called and left a message. I advised him to please call me ASAP. During my search for his office I found this site usacomplaints.com. If I would have found this in the past none of this would have happened. I began to read the report that was left about Mr. Brodsky and immediately knew that I was scammed!

After reading all the fraudulent information about him I proceeded to re-email him. On July 13 I wrote and I quote: "Subject, Information found on usacomplaints.com. It comes to my knowledge that it may be that you aren't doing what is needed. I am not sure if this is a scam or not but I am here to say that I hope it isn't. If in fact this is a scam and you have taken me for my $800.00 there will be a price to pay behind this! I am giving you 24 hours to respond to my message left on your phone and / or my email. If after the 24 hour period I have not yet heard from you I will have no other choice but to file a complaint. I am extremely irate and frustrated at this point with the way you have handled my case. All I want is to be divorced! If you aren't able to comply with this I am requesting a full refund of my $800.00. Mr. Brodsky you have 24 hours."

This whole situation has burdened me immensely! Because of all this I have now had to take time from work and go to the Supreme Court House and see how I could rectify this outrageous situation! I was asked by the representative in the Uncontested Divorce Room 311 did someone help you with this. When I stated to the representative that I had Brodsky Law Firm start this process he said oh wasn't he disbarred? I was floored!

At this point I am now starting almost the entire process on my own! I just might have to hire another Lawyer to assist me with my paperwork.

With all this being said. Learn from my experience. Be careful and stay alert. I wish I could get my money back but at this point I am more concerned with just getting my divorce completed!

I hope and pray that I am able to fulfill this divorce on my own now!

With all this be
