I am a seller on Ebay, and im growing more and more and more livid with the United States Postal Service on a daily basis for ther "lack of service".. And its unfortunate that the post office is the only primary means of shipping/mailing small items, letter sized envelopes and they know this.

On the 14th of June i shipped out an item from north carolina to Alexandria LA to an ebay customer. I shipped the art print priority with confirmation/tracking number. I watch the tracking to see when the buyer recieved the item. Ebay and paypal will not release the buyers funds to the seller until 3 days after tracking shows the item has been delivered, so needless to say im constantly tracking the items myself so i can get paid!!!

Last entry of the tracking shows it was recieved in Alexandria LA postal unit on the 18th, on the 21st, it still showed it sitting at that post office not delivered. I called the 800 number ASK-USPS and filed a complaint and asked them to check into it. The rep told me she would put a tracer on it, and would call me back by the end of the business day, didnt happen. The next day 22nd, i called the exact post office it was showing it was at, gave them the info, they said it should have been delivered, and possibly was delivered and forgotten to scan it in, the supervisor told me he would contact the carrier to ask him/her about the deliver and call me back within the hour. Never called, on the 23, i called back, spoke to a female supervisor and she explained to me they have a new carrier on that route, she would get up with them to see whats up and call me back in a couple hours. Never called me back, on the 24th, yesterday, tracking still shows its sitting at that post office, i called, spoke to another male supervisor, he told me they are swamped and he has been very busy researching other items that are lost (GEE, IS THIS A CLUE TO THERE INCOMPETENCE OR WHAT? MAYBE THEY NEED A LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT), he told me he would call me back by the end of the business day yesterday, no call (go figure) i JUST called today, 10am, spoke to a different supervisor (could have been the post master, that is who i asked for), explained to him all the problems i have had, and told him I WANT TO KNOW WHERE MY PACKAGE I SENT IS AT. He took the information, told me he will research and call me back. Not enough time has passed yet for him to call back, but for some reason, i doubt he will and i doubt anyone will find the package.

This realy burns me up. No wonder the postal rates continue to go up.
1. People are tired of getting shafted by the post office and they are filing insurance claims and the post office is losing money.
2. People are tired of getting shafted and taking ther business elsewhere so the post office is increasing rates to compensate for the loss.
3. Unlike UPS, the post office doesnt automatically issue insurance on the first $100, why? They would go bankrupt in claims! (as if they will not eventually anyway?)
4. Not saying this "is" what happend, but one can only wonder: how are we as senders not to know if the carrier is stealing packages? You hear about that all the time on the news. They see an item that isnt insured and automatically know its up for the taking and classify it as "lost"..

You would also think that if you dont have insurance on an item sent priority mail and confirmation (for me: total of $6.00 bucks paid) they would atleast refund you the shipping cost on services NOT rendered. But they dont, for they do not "guarantee" it will get delivered or they will not guarantee a postal carrier will not steal your item.

BEWARE: this has happened to me on several occasions, BUT they are cheaper to send smaller large envelope sized items vs other carriers but that comes with a price. Im SERIOUSLY thinking of going with UPS, the service with the post office has gotten horrible. Something TOTALLY on the opposite side of this complaint, but another problem is the service and attitude of going into the post office. Atleast where i live, you walk in and usually one clerk working and there is a line any given day of 15 people, usually a 30 minute wait, then you get to the clerk and there in a horrible attitude and can get testy with the customers. I have seen a few times arguments esculate.

A couple weeks back, i did sell 2 items that were large boxed items, i for the first time went to my local ups and OH, it was wonderful, FAST courteous, friendly, helpful, and reasonable on large items and automatically insure items up to 100 bucks. Not to mention the service was fast, i sent it from North carolina to utah, 2 days it got there at there lowest rate. Couple days later i had another larger item i shipped with them, same service, reasonable fees, and fast delivery. If only they were more cheaper on smaller items, i would SO give them my business. Im sick of giving the united states postal service $300-$400 a month and horrible service.
