Complaints at ROC are adding up and subs from all over are catching on. Bankruptcy and owner jail time can't be far. Subs must and should, if waiting longer than 5 weeks for invoice payment, contact the owners or the architects directly if payment has been made to Caviness. You will discover more often then not they had been paid in full and Caviness took your money to pay off someone else for earlier jobs.
Leans are useless as the owners have paid. New subs brought aboard from Dodge listings and then negotiated to the bone just to get work are the newest victoms, older subs will not continue to contract. 90% may get paid but don't count on the 10% retention... 18 months will go by and before you know it, the job was closed some time before and your money is gone. They'll blame the owners and banks but with a little investigation and talking with other subs you will discover your money is gone and others may be worse off. Contract's mean nothing if they don't have or will pay you the money due.
