I shipped a locked (master locked) case of tools to California to work on some property of mine and it arrived there with no problem. Once the work was done the tools were shipped back to Florida and when I received the case back it had been broken into.
I check the paperwork to verify the weight that was shipped going and returning and it was off, even the delivery driver stated that fact as well. I questioned the employee and UPS regarding the damage along with all the missing power and hand tools and it was discovered that the case arrived at the UPS warehouse in Florida intact but while the box was waiting in the UPS warehouse to be delivered to me one or more of UPS employees broke open the case and removed all of the my expensive tools and left the misc. Stuff.
I did have insurance on the case and it contents but, I had such a good experience previously with UPS that I did not put the total value of the tools and the case on the paperwork (I know shame on me).
Well needless to say UPS did not except the responsibility of its thieving employee (s) althought during the investigation they discovered that an employee had broke in the case and stole the items. UPS would only pay the amount that I insured the case for which was $3000.00 short of what was the actual value of the box and items.
I say that to say this "Buyer Beware" when using UPS, there employees are above the law and UPS will not cover the cost of your items when their employee (s) steal them.
In closing I will never use UPS (United Parcel Services, Inc) again.
