Retail price fraud

Last month I got a second chance offer to get the ring (Bidz.com Item #bidz001231793), and I bought it with 233 $ the retail price was 3,299 USD. Yesterday there was an auction (Bidz.com Auction #34979328) on the same ring with retail price 1,000$ (Auction sold 101$), It means that the value of the ring has lost 70% percent within one month, how come that happen?

Bidz.com gives me a certificate from a gymstone lab of this ring that retail price is 3,299 $, and after one month the retail price goes down to 1000$, who is evaluating the retail price? This is a fraud because I'm bidding depends on the retail price, even they always add a note on any item that (* The "Compare" Price is based on what we believe to be the maximum price other jewelers advertise online for similar jewelry items. This price in no way reflects worth, suggested retail price or an actual advertised price.

You should always make sure to have all the information provided in the description page of the auction evaluated with your local appraiser/jeweler before you bid or buy.) but also they should be fair in evaluating the retail price they said: (The "Compare" Price is based on what we believe to be the maximum price other jewelers advertise online for similar jewelry items), so they were believe that retail price was 3,200 and after one month they said we were wrong the price is 1000$, there is no way a piece of jewerly lost more than 70% of the price within one month, in breif they are fooling us with (retail price)
