Ordered new residential local phone service march I wished to change carriers from Verizon to SBC. I was informed that an advance deposit for $122. Was needed to establish service, on 4/9/03 I called to verify that this had began, I was told that the service terrority was not available in my area, mostly because of Verizon is primary carrier. A cancel order was then requested 4/9/03 with SBC with refund deposit.
I called SBC again on 4/24/03 to determine when the redemption of deposit would take place. The new order dept. Rep said it was up to accounting to issue refund, this still has not been received, they do not reply to email inquiries, as an alternative I suggest that they issue stock / share certificate in my name, as indirectly this payment has become an invested, interest bearing non-account, which increases the amount of deposit made for $122.00 and is accruing over 30 days.
The check cleared my bank on 4/14/03 after the order was cancelled which may be deemed as fraudulent and deceptive practice on behalf of SBC practices, I have since filed a complaint with Public service commission after several attempts to contact SBC with no reply.
