Tried to "sell/rent" non-essential converter boxes to me as absolutely necessary for analog to digital

A salesman called from Comcast telling me I had only a month to get my "box" for my TV because they will be changing and currently I receive Extended Basic Cable Service which are the regular programming channels 2 - 82. No Showtime, No HBO, No Pay Per View and No On Demand which was great for me. I never wanted any BOX at my TV. He insisted that all TV's in my home must now have this "converter" box sold/rented by Comcast (they give you 2 free ones w/remotes) or I would lose 1/2 my channels. I would only get channel 2 - 35. I pay almost $60 a month! NO Food Network, NO History Channel, NO CNN etc. I was so upset. I just bought a $2,000 Samsung HDTV LCD 60 inch TV and now I still have to have a stupid box? Absurd. He insisted on signing me up for 8 boxes. I have a total of 8 TV's in my home, all pretty new. I called Comcast and they told me the exact same thing! Then I complained on the Comcast Website under "feedback" and I received an email back saying actually in fact I did have 3 more years to actually accept the BOX. What a total ripoff. They are calling millions of customers trying to scam them into needing something they may not actually need or want. Scare tactic.
